S.C. Car Dealership Offers U.S. Flag, Bible, and Rifle with Every Vehicle Purchase

A car dealership in South Carolina is going above and beyond to promote its support for everything American — including the constitutional amendment that secures the country’s existence.

Honea Path’s Carolina Ford is offering a package deal for its costumers in October through November: a Bible, an American flag, and a $400 voucher for Locked N Loaded — a local gun dealer. When customers make a purchase, they receive the Bible and folded American flag on site, but they have to purchase the firearm separately pending a background check.

Carolina Ford General Manager Derrick Hughes says the entire team was involved with the idea.

“We sat down here, me and my whole team, and we looked at different aspects of how to do this. Everybody at this dealership is proud of our country and almost everybody likes to hunt, and so we tried to do something a little bit different,” he told Index-Journal.

Hughes went on to admit that the “God, Guns and America” deal is obviously divisive for some, but says the offering has led to productive conversations about constitutional rights with his customers. He adds that the deal is not intended to force his beliefs on anyone.

Customers who don’t want to purchase a long rifle with the $400 voucher have the option to redeem the card for other products in the dealership. Hughes stressed that firearms are not kept on the premises.

Clearly, the promotion is inspired by the national push for gun control, which is being heavily pushed by the Democratic Party at the national level. Hughes says that he actually supports additional gun control, but cautions that many are taking it too far.

“I’m a big Second Amendment supporter,” he said. “I do believe there needs to be more gun control, but there also needs to be more common sense when it comes to it. I don’t agree with the three-day rule one bit at all. If you can’t pass the background check, that should be it.”

Customers can be seen posing with their new vehicles along with their new American flags on the dealership’s Facebook page.

It’s inspiring to see a business owner take a stand like this in favor of the Second Amendment. This is a fundamental constitutional liberty, and partisanship shouldn’t play a role in how it is interpreted.
