The U.S. House of Representatives is considering legislation that, if passed, would implement some of the most extreme gun control measures ever at the federal level.
Of course, you would never be able to tell based on the title. H.R. 7115, or the 3D Firearm Prohibition Act, might lead you to believe that the bill is entirely focused on 3D-printed guns — such as those already receiving state-level bans throughout the country. This isn’t the case. What’s really at stake here is that when House Democrats assume power in the coming months, Congress may actually redefine what “assault weapons” are, and introduce other wide-reaching reforms that have absolutely nothing to do with 3D-printed guns.
In fact, the bill virtually prohibits any at-home modifications to firearms whatsoever — and it doesn’t stop there. The bill will also regulate what individuals selling guns are even allowed to say about their own products. Essentially, this is an attack on the First Amendment and the Second Amendment at the same time.
