The NRA is Actually EXTREMELY Charitable, Apparently

0

Did you know that the National Rifle Association has a charitable organization that supports shooting sports?

It’s true. Since 1990, the NRA has been raising and donating money for different grants that fund shooting sports all over America and other gun rights initiatives. This is a grand purpose the NRA is proud to stand behind with their Foundation leading the way.

In the past 29 years, the Foundation has donated almost $400 million in grants. Let’s take a closer look at what the foundation does.

The Programs the Foundation Benefits

Some of the programs that the grants go towards include youth shooting sports education, hunting and conservation efforts, law enforcement training, and various safety courses involving firearms. One of the main goals is to improve the marksmanship skills of people all over the world.

They have been doing these programs since the NRA Foundation started in 1990. One of the missions of the foundation is to bring families together who want to participate in hunting and shooting sports. It’s a bond that has been an important part of our culture since the inception of our country.

Two Types of Grants Available

If you are interested in obtaining one of these grants for your shooting or educational organization, there are two types available. One is for supplies and equipment, while the other is geared towards range owners who want to improve their facilities. Some of those improvements could be for berm work, trap machines, and even classroom facilities.

They Accept Donations and Other Ways to Get Involved

Year round, the NRA Foundation accepts donations from charitable people who want to be a part of this important cause. All you have to do is give them a call at 877-NRA-GIVE, or send them an email at [email protected] to find out how to donate. Keep in mind any of the contributions you make to this charity are tax-deductible. This might be something you want to consider donating to each year.

You can also join their “Friends of NRA” team, which allows opportunities to volunteer, become a benefactor, and attend various charitable events the foundations supports. If you are a business owner there are also ways to become a corporate sponsor that supports the various events the Foundation puts on each year.

Traditions Magazine

Each quarter, the NRA Foundation puts out a magazine where they talk about all of their charity efforts. It’s called Traditions Magazine. The last issue which recently came out detailed a story about the NRA’s Youth Education Summit. There was also a story about the company Weatherby INC, and how they support the Foundation through the Friends of NRA program.

You can read the magazine online at the website, or look through past issues in the archives. If you become a Friends of NRA sponsor, you will automatically receive a copy of the magazine each quarter in the mail.
